God’s Divine Agenda for Your Life

It Was Never Just About Escape

One of the biggest misunderstandings in the body of Christ is thinking salvation is only about escaping judgment. That’s too small. That’s not the full picture. God’s agenda for us has always been about transformation. When you were born again, something real happened. Your spirit wasn’t patched up—it was recreated. Scripture makes it plain in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT): “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” Your spirit is now alive to God, complete, and whole. But your soul—your mind, your will, your emotions—that’s where the work shows up. God will not override your choices. He will lead, convict, guide, and shape, but He will not force. So the real question becomes: what is God doing with us now that we belong to Him?

Knowing God Is the Assignment

God’s desire is not distant relationship. He’s not trying to manage you from afar. He wants you to know Him—personally and directly, for real. Jesus said it clearly in John 17:1–3 (NLT): “After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, ‘Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.’” That’s the assignment. Not just knowing about Him, but knowing Him. And the truth is, most people struggle here. Because to know God, you have to come close. And when you come close, things get real. You can’t hide behind routine, knowledge, or performance. It becomes personal.

Christ Is the Only Source of Life

Jesus didn’t leave room for alternatives. He said in John 14:6 (NLT): “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” That settles it. Nothing created can give you life. Not success. Not relationships. Not money. Not plans you’ve mapped out for your future. And this is where many people get tripped up. They try to live in a future they haven’t reached yet, making present decisions based on imagined outcomes. Or they stay stuck replaying what already happened. But life with God is lived now. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Right now. And if Christ is not your source in the present, disappointment is coming. Because anything outside of Him cannot sustain what your soul is looking for.

The Veil Has Been Removed

There’s another layer to this. The Bible talks about a veil—a covering that keeps people from seeing truth clearly. In older times, veils could separate people by status or access. Spiritually, it’s deeper than that. The enemy works to blind understanding, to keep people from recognizing what’s right in front of them. But something shifts when you are born again. That covering is removed. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NLT) tells us, “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” Now you can see. Now you can understand. Not perfectly all at once, but clearly enough to follow, to grow, and to respond.

God’s agenda is not complicated, but it is serious. He is forming Christ in you. That’s the goal. Not just behavior change. Not just better decisions. Real transformation from the inside out. Your spirit is already made new. Now your soul has to come into alignment with that truth. And that only happens as you stay connected to Him, learn more about Him, and allow Him to shape how you think, how you respond, and how you live. ■
